The Aditya-L1 spacecraft was successfully launched on September 2,2023,using the reliable PSLV-C57 rocket from sriharikota.Unlike missions that orbit Earth or land on celestial bodies,Aditya-L1 was sent to an unique location or a type of point called "Lagrange Point".
This point lies approximately 1.5 million kilometers away from Earth,directly between the Earth and the Sun.Reaching L1 is a complex process that requires precise navigation and orbital maneuvers.After travelling for several months,the spacecraft was inserted into a halo orbit around L1,allowing it to maintain a stable position relative to both Earth and the Sun.
Why Lagrange Point L1?
